We are seeking to appoint a committed, energetic, positive and enthusiastic member of support staff who is wholly dedicated to meeting the needs of our ‘superstar’ Reception and KS1 pupils on Thursdays and Fridays each week. Our children have asked for someone who is helpful and kind, caring and fun, happy and friendly. Sicklinghall CP School is a small and vibrant place to learn, consisting of 63 learners, 8 colleagues and a supportive and committed parent/carer body.
The postholder will work as a general teaching assistant each morning, assisting the class teacher in the day to day delivery of high quality learning opportunities within the Early Years and Year 1. S/he will work as part of a team who are dedicated to ensuring that each and every pupil is able to make excellent personal, social and academic progress. Commitment to supporting high quality outdoor learning at all times of the year is essential.
This post also includes lunchtime supervision from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, supporting children to eat well and enjoy a relaxed social time and providing playground supervision alongside another member of staff. Ideally, the postholder would lead an after school club from 3:30 to 4:30 each Thursday evening which will contribute to our extended curriculum. We are particularly looking to provide activities linked to cookery/food preparation or the development of art and craft skills. For the right classroom candidate, we would be flexible in relation to how/when the after school club is run. Totals hours for this post is 13.5 hours per week (12.5 without the after school club).
