In art, children were introduced to the artist Ellen Jackson. The children looked closely at her textile artwork and discussed how different colours and textures can be used to create contemporary art, sharing how the pieces made them feel and what skills might be needed to create them. The lesson then modelled how to use a range of paper textures and choices to create a simple weaving pattern, helping the children understand how textiles can be used in artwork.
