As part of our DT Dazzle Days this term, Willow class took on the challenge of creating 3D Christmas decorations using different fabrics and hand-sewing skills. The project began with looking at a range of festive decorations, which helped inspire the children’s own designs and planning through detailed sketches.
The children then brought their ideas to life by cutting fabric, sewing pieces together, adding padding, and decorating their creations with appliqué and ribbons. Sewing required patience and focus, and Willow class showed excellent determination and problem-solving throughout the process. Each child produced a unique and creative decoration with a festive feel.
At the end of the project, the children evaluated their work, thinking carefully about what they did well and what they might change next time. A big well done to Willow class for their hard work, resilience, and festive imagination! 🎄
