Children at Sicklinghall took part in a Mini Medics session today, learning some of the key skills needed to help in an emergency. They were introduced to DR ABC and talked about what to do if they ever find someone who needs help. Willow Class also learned which number to call in an emergency and why it is important to stay calm and give clear information.
Willow Class explored the contents of a first aid bag and worked through a series of case studies in small groups. For each scenario, they had to decide what equipment they would need and how they would use it to support the casualty.
To finish the session, the children practised CPR using training dolls, giving them a chance to apply what they had learned in a safe and supportive environment.
It was an engaging and memorable experience that helped Willow Class build confidence and understand the importance of first aid.
