We are fortunate that the North Yorkshire Music Service has given Willow Class the chance to take part in a series of brass workshops this term. Throughout the summer, the children have been and will continue to enjoy lessons with Mr Hall, where they explore the trumpet and trombone and learn how each instrument works.
Willow Class have approached their first sessions with great enthusiasm. It was certainly a lively start, but also a very successful one. Alongside learning to play, the children have been listening to a range of orchestral pieces and discussing what they can hear, helping them to build a wider understanding of music.
So far, they have learned how to play Hot Cross Buns, and they are already beginning to show growing confidence with their instruments. The children also have the opportunity to take their instrument home so they can practise the skills they have learned in school.
We are excited to watch their confidence grow and to see how their musical abilities develop over the coming weeks.
