Sicklinghall Parent Teacher and Friends Association, the PTFA, is an association of parents committed to additional fundraising for the school and its pupils. Every parent/carer is automatically a member of the PTFA, which is run by a committee of parents and carers. Being a member of the PTFA is an excellent opportunity to get to know other families and be directly involved in fundraising for the benefit of our pupils.

PTFA support the school throughout the year with a wide range of events and activities. These are mostly social events, combining fund-raising with fun and friendship. They have included:

• Daffodil Tea

• Summer Barbecue

• Children’s Christmas Party

• Race Night

• Purchase of 12 iPads, cases and a charging trolley

• Christmas Fayre

• Easter Egg Hunt

With funds raised recently, our fantastic PTFA have supported the work of the school in a number of ways by funding the purchase of:

  1. iPads, cases and charging trolley.
  2. A contribution to refurbishment of the library.
  3. Playground equipment, including a 'Trim Trail' and stage area
  4. A visit from The Mighty Zulu Nation
  5. Enhancing the School Library and Class Reading Areas

All fund-raising activities are organised by a committee elected at the Annual General Meeting in October each year. Whilst the committee are central to the organisation of events, the help and support of each and every parent and carer is warmly welcomed.

The chairperson is Mrs Gray - she is is ably supported by an active committee and meetings are informal and productive. If you would like to contribute to the work of our PTFA and join in with social events, please contact Mrs Gray via the school office by e-mailing [email protected]
