The children started their printing topic by investigating the artist Frida Kahlo. We discussed the features Frida used such as colour, flowers, leaves, big eyebrows, no smile and they tried to draw a pictures of her work.
The children attempted to create our own self portrait in the style of Frida.
The next step was to being experiment with block printing. The children looked at Mary Heilmann's checker board artwork and recreated it using black and coloured paint.
